Dr. Dan Perez began his educational journey after discharging from the Army. He found that his experiences offered a unique perspective on life and decided that he would use this perspective to help others. While in college, Dr. Perez became fascinated with psychology and trying to understand the process of resilience after traumatic or extremely difficult experiences. This fascination transformed into a desire to learn more about morality and how we as humans determine right from wrong. Each of these experiences advanced Dr. Perez's understanding of the human experience and help him to utilize his research in therapy while treating his patients.
Dr. Perez served in the U.S. Army as an enlisted Airborne Infantryman. He was stationed in Fort Richardson, AK with the 1/501st Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR). He was deployed to FOB Salerno (Khost, Afghanistan) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His medals and awards include: Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Marksman Badge.
